About my FH condition (in Australian units), patient profile

age/sex/race/FH genetic link:

39/female/Chinese/paternal side familial hypercholesterolemia

untreated total cholesterol and untreated LDL cholesterol:

10.3 mmol/L, 7.5 mmol/L

lowest achieved total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol on Incliseran, statin and ezetimibe therapy:

3.1mmol/L, 1.1mmol/L (29/04/25)

lowest Lp(a) achieved:

96.1 nmol/L high

age of diagnosis, age of start of treatment, current medical institution managing my condition:

32, 32,  Vascular Health (Familial Hypercholesterolaemia) Clinic at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Australia)

weight/height:

63kg/approximately 159.5cm

FH-related medication and supplements:

Incliseran and Atozet 10/40mg

Aspirin 100 mg

Iron (for being a vegan, otherwise I would be anaemic)

B12 (for being a vegan, otherwise I would be deficient in this vitamin which only occurs in animal-based foods)

7-10 grams of Metamucil (for psyllium husk intake, as this soluble fibre binds to bile acids, which are made from cholesterol, in the intestines and promote their excretion.)

2 Blackmores Cholesterol Health pills equivalent to 2 grams of plant sterols (for plant sterols intake, as plant sterols and stanols have a similar chemical structure to cholesterol, which competes with cholesterol for absorption in the digestive system, so that your body absorbs the plant sterols instead of cholesterols and excretes the cholesterols.) Treatment summary for high ldl cholesterol treatment

genetically tested for FH?:

yes, confirmed diagnosis for FH, with a pathogenic variant (gene fault) in the LDLR gene

most recent CT Coronary Angiogram results:

2023: Calcium score=0

preferred diet:

low fat, high fibre, whole foods, organic, vegan, lots of oats (for beta-glucan, as this souble fiber, like psyllium husk, binds to bile acids and promotes their excretion, reducing cholesterol absorption)

latest blood test results:

29/04/25

total cholesterol 3.1 mmol/L

LDL 1.1 mmol/L

Lp(a) 96.1 nmol/L

other medical conditions:

17 liver haemangiomas (benign blood vessel tumours and do not need treatment, though my case is monitored by a gastroenterologist)
